After one year of COVID-19 outbreak, the first business delegation to Russia, consisting of René Ebert, the managing director of SIBB e.V., and Armin Berger, CEO of 3pc GmbH, has been made. The program of the delegation took 4 days and included the visit to the two biggest cities of the Russian Federation – Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
The delegation was coordinated by the Deep Tech Hub Russia team – Nikolay Tretyakov and Wladyslaw Olejnik.
Day 1-2. Skolkovo Startup Village
For two days, 24-25th of May, as an international event partner, SIBB Deep Tech Hub Russia had a real booth on Skolkovo Startup Village. Held on the large territory of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, the largest Russian technological event of the year had gathered more than 10000 participants, online and offline.
Apart from the program happening simultaneously on 5 different stages marked accordingly to the space theme of the event, it is important to mention the Startup Bazaar, a hybrid interactive startup exhibition. On the Bazaar, young tech teams had presented promising projects at both prototype and mass production stages.
The booth of SIBB has been a place to introduce representatives of Russian DeepTechs interested in the Berlin market. The visitors had also an opportunity to learn about the projects of SIBB, especially about Deep Tech Hub Russia and Startup Stipendium.
On the first day of the event, the meeting with the International and Regional development of Skolkovo Foundation, headed by its Vice President, Yury Saprykin, took place. The sides had discussed the opportunities for Russian companies in Berlin-Brandenburg and the ways of cooperation. The next big event organized by Skolkovo is the Open Innovations Forum happening in October 2021.
Apart from numerous business meetings that happened during the two days of the exhibition, we would like to emphasize two meetings that happened with Deep Tech Hub Russia project partners: Igor Iarunov - Head of Investment, Kirov Group Venture Capital, and Ani Oganesyan, International Projects Lead at the Generation S corporate accelerator in Russia Venture Company.
Day 3 was dedicated to the business meetings in Moscow. The highlights of the day included signing the MoU with RUSSOFT –the most influential association of software developing companies in Russia, and the Russian Agency for the Support of Small and Medium Businesses. The delegation had shortly visited the Moscow Agency of Innovations located in the buildings of Moscow Parliament and discussed the participation of German IT companies in Moscow pilot projects.
The fourth and the last day of the business program took place in Saint-Petersburg. It was filled with business meetings, but the highlight of the day was the visit of the delegation to the regional operator of Skolkovo, Technopark LENPOLIGRAPHMASH.
Located on the site of a former factory, that had stopped the last production line in 2011, today there is a complete infrastructure for the innovators. LENPOLIGRAPHMASH unites the large conference hall, business incubator, coworking space, entertainment facilities and the industrial clusters aimed for the hardware prototyping and testing. On the introductory meeting with the institutional residents of the techno park, headed by its Director, Daniil Starkovskii, it was a chance to meet everyone involved into the administration and international relations.
The sides have found the points of cooperation -with the numerous offices on-site, LENPOLIGRAPHMASH is a great central meeting point in Saint-Petersburg for German and Russian IT companies to exchange the expertise and talk on mutual plans.
Now, team of SIBB e.V. is looking forward to the autumn of 2021 with a greater Berlin delegation coming to Russia!
