We support researchers in the fields of cybersecurity, data protection and trustworthy AI to become entrepreneurs. This 9-week hybrid program of the proven SIBB Incubator combines expert mentoring, intellectual property exploitation strategies and hands-on workshops. Participants gain market readiness through networking with industry in Berlin's innovation hub and bridge the gaps in research commercialization in Germany and Central/Eastern Europe. The project is aligned with the EU's digital sovereignty and turns innovators into founders.

We support creatives, augmented reality experts and heritage enthusiasts to become entrepreneurs. This 12-week hybrid program combines expert mentorship, innovative entrepreneurial strategies and hands-on workshops designed specifically for creatives. Participants will create innovative and scalable businesses that bridge the gap between history and current digital technologies. This call for applications is open to individuals and teams (up to 3 people) with an early stage business idea in the cultural and creative sectors and industries (CCSI), with a particular focus on cultural heritage. Ideas can be immersive AR/VR experiences, digital transformation projects and innovative business models for value creation in the sector.

In the ZIM network Smart Water Technologies (SWaT), which was completed in 2024, we pursued the vision of establishing actively managed, digitized, decentralized water cycles in which rainwater is a valuable raw material together with MARIS, the network of the Berlin and Brandenburg water industry. The basic idea was that decentrally stored water is used at least once in at least one technical cycle before it is used specifically for the irrigation of urban greenery and thus returned to the natural water cycle.

In order to improve the supply of regional food and strengthen the regional economy, the project aims to create transparency along food value chains. This should lead to greater sustainability and efficiency in the long term. Consumers, suppliers and producers will be networked via a prototypical, digital, interoperable, transferable and scalable platform for nutritional data in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, thereby matching supply and demand. The regional aspect is particularly important to the project partners: The region, municipalities and consumers are to be involved.

One example of a completed ZIM cooperation network organized by us is the Multi Sensor Services for Intralogistics (MuSIC) network. The subject of the 2020-2021 funded network was the development of effective, efficient, resource-saving and intelligent warehouse logistics systems and has developed corresponding cross-industry warehouse logistics solutions and technical innovations for the logistics sector that are scalable and applicable worldwide. The MuSIC network was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM).

We support tech start-ups and companies from the Berlin-Brandenburg region on their way to future-oriented business development, professional networking and the establishment of new partnerships. Our goal is long-term cooperation with companies, IT clusters and technology centers. To this end, we offer a wide and varied range of educational and entrepreneurship formats: Webinars, workshops, networking events, acceleration programs & bootcamps for executives, corporate delegations & innovation programs and participation in the largest conferences on technology and digitalization in Central and Eastern Europe.

New business opportunities and business potential are opening up for companies from the capital region and the USA through targeted participation in events in the USA and collaboration on IT topics. Companies can develop their IT applications in cooperation with local partners and test them under real market conditions. A branch in the USA helps to open up new markets and establish business relationships. By networking with partners, project participants gain access to new technologies. They inspire customers with their products, adapt solutions, find investors and use specialist events for knowledge transfer and new contacts.

The LookOut project strengthens cooperation between Berlin's IT industry and leading Polish technology centers in Kraków, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wrocław. Funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and the European Regional Development Fund, LookOut served as a platform for new business opportunities across national borders. Companies benefit from trusting partnerships that facilitate access to international markets. Whether IT cooperation, offshoring, nearshoring or the search for financing - LookOut brings innovative players together and promotes cross-border synergies.

In the RegioFood_Plus joint project, the partners are working with SIBB to develop industry-specific cloud ERP systems for small and micro enterprises in the food industry. SIBB's scientific project work aims to develop new business models for the digital economy in the food industry and provide relevant information and materials for the development of corresponding products and consulting concepts.
